Bandon Oregon is a very charming, and small costal community located on the Southern Coast of Oregon. The shops and sights of Bandon Oregon are almost all within a short walking distance of each other. The renovated Old Town Bandon makes the perfect place for strolling, shopping and dining while you're visiting Bandon Oregon. The Old Town area of Bandon is just off of Highway 101, and includes a wonderful collection of art galleries, shops, fine restaurants, and the Bandon Chamber of Commerce. It's right next to the boat basin, so it's easy to walk down tot he basin for a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean.
Bandon is Oregons Cranberry Capital and has many cranberry produts and services. With over 900 acres of cranberry bogs to back up the clean of Oregons Official Cranberry Capital. The Annual Cranberry Festival, held every September features a great parade, dances and a large crafts fair, exhibits of cranberry dishes and even a high school "Cranberry Bowl" football game.
The Beach Loop is a popular road tour, as it winds along the coast near many craggy sea stacks, including Table Rock, Cat and Kittens Rock, Elephant Rock, and Garden of the Gods. The most impressive of these is known as Face Rock. Local legend says that Face Rock is the face of an Indian maiden that was frozen into stone by an evil spirit. The cat and Kittens Rock are her animals that were thrown into the sea and turned to stone by the same evil spirit.
Interesting shops in 19th century buildings, spectacular coastal scenery, salmon and bottom fishing, windsurfing and just walking along the ocean beach all make Bandon-by-the-sea your perfect coastal vacation destination!
